Galvuantula is the fourth Pokémon with the appearance of a spider, the others being Spinarak, Ariados and Joltik. It was officially revealed on the October issue of Coro Coro on September 11, 2010. Galvantula was among eight Pokémon revealed on the show Oha Suta on June 27, 2010.Its Japanese name is likely a combination of 電気 denki, electricity, or 電柱 denchū, lightpole, and タランチュラ taranchura, tarantula. As seen in its general shape as well as its name, Galvantula is based off of a tarantula.Galvantula did not appear in Generation IV Galvantula did not appear in Generation III Galvantula did not appear in Generation II Galvantula did not appear in Generation I Italic indicates an evolved or alternate form of this Pokémon receives STAB from this move. This works as a weapon as well as a defense.īold indicates this Pokémon receives STAB from this move. It creates barriers from electrified silk that stun foes. While it is immobilized by shock, they leisurely consume it. They employ an electrically charged web to trap their prey. When attacked, they create an electric barrier by spitting out many electrically charged threads. Galvantula did not appear during the Generation I - IV games. The dual energy strings are produced from Galvantula's fangs and can also form into a large net. Not sure how useful this will be considering the amount of people who raid online or with friends, but this is the best way to beat 5* Galv with NPCs I've found and I'm sharing it on the off chance it helps someone.Galvantula has the ability to release two energy strings capable of creating a massive electric shock that can paralyze and kill prey. I managed to pull off a win with this Gallade set and a team consisting of Pikachu (who spammed Electroweb against an electric type for some reason), Maractus (whose quad weakness to bug moves led to my only two faints of the battle, thanks Max Flutter), and Mudbray (whose electric immunity was irrelevant, and whose Rock Tombs accounted for most of the damage). Once Galvantula's second shield cracks, you can risk it and go for a Stone Edge for the kill, but ONLY if you're confident that Gallade outspeeds so Galvantula can't wipe you out with AoE when Wide Guard is down. Suckerpunch can't hurt Gallade thanks to Gallade never attacking, so you just need to worry about Max Moves and Slashes, and Gallade's defenses will work with your Leftovers to mitigate that. The NPCs can dish out enough damage to take out Galvantula quite easily with Wide Guard supporting them. With Electroweb/Discharge out of the equation, Galv can only use Suckerpunch (weak, not spammable, high fail rate), Bug Bite (broken in raids lmao), Slash (really?) and his Max Moves. Get into the raid and spam Wide Guard (which gets priority) every turn. I crafted this beautiful beast: A Gallade that knows Wide Guard and Stone Edge (other moves can be whatevs, I went for Life Dew and Psycho Cut) and holding Leftovers. Which is the situation I was in this afternoon. Which can be bothersome, if you're farming out bug dens for rare spawns like Escavalier/Accelgor. But offline, this big bug can easily clog up dens with his refusal to die and NPC-killing Electroweb and Discharge spam. Grab a few bros and their favorite ground or rock Pokemon and you're set. The 5* Galvantula has become infamous for its impossibility when playing offline.
